Who We Are - Lead Paint Detectives, LLC

instantleadtestkits.com was started so Lumetallix can be highlighted in all of it's uses and help prevent lead poisoning.

Anthony Weaver is a Lead Risk Assessor with the Lead Paint Detectives, LLC in Toledo, Ohio. The City of Toledo created a Lead-Safe Ordinance in 2016 requiring rentals of 1-4 units to be inspected for lead paint, but couldn’t be enforced due to litigation.

This April 2025, the City of Toledo enacted a new Lead-Safe Ordinance that will be enforced.

Mr. Weaver is very connected to his community's lead poisoning prevention advocacy groups, including professionals from health networks, the Toledo city government, and local partners. He has established himself as an expert, advocate, and educator for Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention. Since 2017, he has honed his skills and was gob-smacked when he discovered our Lumetallix Instant Lead Detection Test, which we had only invented three years ago.

In the Fall of 2024, Anthony Weaver started using Lumetallix as an adjunct to his Lead-Safe Inspections. Part of the inspection is a lab-tested Dust Wipe Sampling, and Lumetallix will show whether a Lead-Safe cleaning was completed properly. Now, it’s known before a dust wipe sample if lead dust is still present.

Spray the Lumetallix Reagent and shine the UV lead light, and we can see the problem of previously invisible lead dust.

If it glows NEON GREEN, you’ve found lead dust.

Lumetallix has already saved my client's thousands of dollars in retests because it's known beforehand if the Lead-Safe precleaning was completed properly.

I fully endorse Lumetallix and it's become an instrumental tool in the Lead Paint Detectives toolbox!

What is a Healthy Home?

We all believe our homes are healthy places but all too often the opposite is true. As a remodeling contractor too, I deal with it every day. From the materials we use to how they are installed and the environment we create within the envelope of your home is unbelievably important. The CDC describes a healthy home as “One that is designed, built, and maintained to support our health” I couldn’t agree more. The other pivotal moment in my quest to promote healthy homes was a document written by the then Surgeon General, Steven Galson in 2009 who articulated the need for a healthy housing stock. This blog is dedicated to all things related to healthy homes with an emphasis on lead, lead detection as well as protection of humans and pets.
