Don't take lead dust home with you!

Working in any field that involves lead, you want to protect yourself, your family, and especially the kids from preventable lead poisoning. Developing a plan when you've completed work for the day helps stop the transfer of lead dust from work to your home.


  1. Have separate work clothes and at-home clothes.
  2. Carry a plastic bin in your car for your work clothes and work shoes.
  3. Change your clothes after your job is complete and place your work clothes in the plastic bin... including your shoes.
  4. Wipe yourself down with proper cleaning cloths.
  5. Don clean clothes.
  6. Take a shower as soon as you get home. Don't hug your family or shake hands with anyone.
  7. Use a de-lead soap to wash your work clothes.
